Gorgeous Restored Hand-Painted Clawfoot Tubs From Bathworks

Hand-Painted Clawfoot Bathtub

Hand-Painted Clawfoot Bathtub

For those of you who love the classic style of vintage clawfoot bathtubs, the folks at The Bath Works have something for you! This UK-based company that started in 1981 has been specializing in restoring antique bathtubs, as well as creating reproductions of the old classics.

Take the Saracen line of clawfoot slipper tubs. These range from the Elysee hand-painted tub (shown at left) to the patinated Saracen Empire bathtub. No word on the pricing, but I can imagine that it's a pretty penny.

Beyond the product lines shown on the website, they also offer a custom restoration service, using one of two processes:

  • "Cold curing" enameling
  • Vitreous enameling, which is closer to the original methods used when these tubs were first created.
