Trust Sony to be one of the pioneers when it comes to innovations in the electronics industry, but now they’ve shown that they can come up with unique ideas for the bathroom fixtures industry as well. With the filing of their Sony Adjustable Bathtub Patent application, swswthe company has declared that it’s high time someone created a workable design for a bathtub that would truly be usable by people of all body types.

Traditionally, the one-size-fits-all bathtub design has been extremely popular with home owners because let’s face it, it is certainly not possible to have a different bathtub for the various members of a household. However, such bathtubs don’t always fulfill individual needs. For instance, some people may enjoy soaking in a deeper tub even if it is narrow, whereas others may want extra space in the tub even if that means they are soaking in more shallow water. Taller people may find it difficult to fit in a smaller tub and likewise for obese people.
